Volunteer
Are you interested in learning more about BC’s biodiversity? Why not volunteer at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum? Project possibilites are numerous, and each volunteer works with a curator to identify a project of interest. Past projects in the Spencer Entomological Collection have included databasing specimens, creating display drawers, sorting, pinning, and identifying insects, or updating names and labels of specimens.

Work in the insect collection requires patience and delicacy, as the specimens are small and fragile. You must be detail-oriented and able to make a commitment for at least 4 months (8 months is preferred).

If this sounds like you, please contact us for more information. You will get the chance to learn more about insects, gain some new skills, and meet others interested in BC’s diverse insect fauna.
