Help Bring the Blue Whale to the Beaty Biodiversity Museum!

Click here to go directly to the online donation page of Supporting UBC.

Exhumation, transportation and articulation of the whale is a major project, but well worth the effort as it will be the first exhibit of its kind in Canada. Bringing this magnificent creature to the museum will be a significant event for UBC, British Columbia, and for Canada, and will be an important contribution to the world of science and public education.

The Museum needs your support to make the total coast-to-coast journey of the blue whale possible. Your donation could support the costs of exhuming, transporting, articulating and installing the blue whale skeleton.

The blue whale will be the premier exhibit of the museum and the central focus of the glass atrium, clearly visible from UBC's Main Mall.

Ways to Help:

There are many ways to make a gift. You may choose a one-time gift or a pledge payable over several years. To support the blue whale project you might consider:

cash gift (cash or cheque)
publicly traded securities (shares, bonds, mutual funds)
sponsorships or gifts-in-kind including gear for the expedition team, rail or truck transport for the skeleton, and exhumation supplies
workplace giving & matching funds programs (If your employer doesn't have the museum on its list, ask for our name to be added!)
